Semen Gresik Supplies 150,000 Tonnes of Superior Ultrapro Products for the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train
Rembang, October 11, 2020 - PT Semen Gresik (SG) has supplied 75% or around 150 thousand tonnes of the superior Ultrapro product from the total supply needed by domestic principals for the construction of the National Strategic Project (NSP) of the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train (JBFT).
SVP of Sales of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) Rahman Kurniawan said, SG as part of SIG continues to strive to maintain the availability of cement for the needs of the development of the JBFT project despite the condition of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, while still prioritizing the health protocol.
"We have supplied about 75% or 150 thousand tonnes because SG is still trying to follow the target of achieving the JBFT connectivity infrastructure, which is projected to reach 70% by the end of 2020," said Rahman Kurniawan in his press statement, Sunday (11/10).
There are several efforts made by Semen Gresik, namely, first, always maintaining the availability of cement and aspects of successful delivery according to customer demand. Second, maintaining consistency in the quality of the cement raw material produced for the construction of JBFT. Third, launching appropriate marketing promotion programs to maintain customer loyalty.
SM of Technical Sales SIG Roganda Harizona Saragih added, there are several priorities that are prioritized in relation to the JBFT development project, including the type of cement product that adapts to the needs of JBFT, that this project requires the use of type I Portland cement.
The Portland cement product of SG Type I supplied to the JBFT project is known as the Ultrapro brand. This product is very suitable to support the JBFT project because it has the superiority of high initial and final compressive strength, optimal drying time, and solid finish. "Thus, it can guarantee the speed in construction, security, and safety at the time of the project is constructed and at the time when it is later opened for fast train operations," he explained.
SG also prioritizes the provision of cement on time, in the right quantity and quality according to the project requirements. According to him, this is one of the strengths of Semen Gresik as part of GIS, which has a better supply chain compared to its competitors because it has factories spread across strategic locations. "For this reason, a dedicated sales team and SIG technical team are provided as a form of service from SG to support the smooth running of the project," he said.
GIS said Roganda, also always prioritizes the quality assurance of cement products supplied by implementing Quality Control and Quality Assurance, starting from controlling the quality of the raw materials used, the production process, and checking the finished products before they are released. With good cement quality control, SG can guarantee the quality of Ultrapro SG used to construct pillars, tunnels, and girder beams in the JBFT project. "Because the construction has specifications that are considered high risk, so we really protect the quality," he said.
